"CHICAGO CUBS BASEBALL IS ON THE AIR!!"
This is the spot for all things Cubs.

From trades and in-season analysis, to whether going to Taco Bell at 3 am after spending all night drinking Old Styles at Murphy's is a good call, I've got the answers.

I just might even drift into other topics as I go, so strap on and get ready for a wild ride. Wait...I meant strap in.

Here's the latest update I could find:

The News

Erik Bedard is already on his way out of Baltimore, and ESPN.com's Buster Olney reports that, at some point, the Orioles and Cubs will finish the proposed deal for Brian Roberts. Pitcher Sean Gallagher would be the centerpiece of the package, with Felix Pie, Sean Marshall and Ronny Cedeno also being mentioned as possible parts of the trade.

Okay, let's do a quick review. Here's what we know:

We don't need Roberts - Orioles can keep him.

Brian Roberts, Erik Bedard, Marlon Byrd, Alex Rios, Carl Crawford, Khalil Greene, and on and on and on. It seems everybody has a guy in mind who will put the Cubs over the top. And while I will grant you that a couple of these guys would be nice additions...primarily Bedard or Rios...we have a pretty good team ready to take the field in 2008. So everybody take a deep breath and............

think back a couple years to what we all wanted. Corner OFer's who could hit AND field. Check. A center fielder with some range. Check. A really good bullpen. Check. A deep starting pitching staff. Check. A good catcher, FINALLY! Check. This team doesn't have many holes.

I know, I know. Everybody wants to see a different lead off hitter. High OBP. But let's be real here. Soriano will be cold and dead in the ground before he gives that spot up. And quite honestly, he's not near as good of a hitter in any other spot in the lineup. His history proves it. And Lou seems to like him there no matter what any of us think. Sorry.

Cubs fans, RELAX...we already have a good team.
